{"id":136538,"date":"2015-03-14T00:23:57","date_gmt":"2015-03-14T00:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2015\/03\/14\/students-trained-on-disaster-response-2\/"},"modified":"2015-03-14T00:23:57","modified_gmt":"2015-03-14T00:23:57","slug":"students-trained-on-disaster-response-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2015\/03\/14\/students-trained-on-disaster-response-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Students trained on disaster response"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>A day-long programme comprising of four sessions on disaster response and school safety, exhibition of tools, equipment &amp; accessories (TEA) used during search and rescue operation, painting competition for students of classes IX and X was held at St. Mary Higher Secondary School, Lerie, on March 7.<br \/>\nThe programme was organized by Kohima district establishment of Civil Defence and Home Guards Department under the Plan Scheme of Mainstreaming Civil Defence in Disaster Risk Reduction, Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA), Government of India.<br \/>\nThe inaugural programme was chaired by the Company Commander, Civil Defence and Home Guards, Temjenwati, a short speech by Principal of St. Mary Higher Secondary School, Fr. John, and power point presentation on mock drill was delivered by Deputy Controller of Civil Defence and District Commandant, Home Guards, Kohima, Mulai Lamniah.<br \/>\nIn the second session, pre-announced mock drill (evacuation) exercise was carried out in case of earthquake incidents, involving the school teachers and students from Classes I to X.<br \/>\nThird session began with a power point presentation on disaster awareness, preparedness, response and school safety tips by Mulai Lamniah, which was followed by painting competition on the theme \u201cNatural disaster like earthquake, fire, cyclone, landslide etc.\u201d and \u201cMy preparedness from such impacts on the school.\u201d<br \/>\nThe final session was led by SI Vinguto and a team of demonstrator, where demonstration- cum \u2013 hands on practical exercise on first aid, emergency method of rescue, bandaging and handling of different kinds of fire extinguishers were imparted to the students of Class IX and X.<br \/>\nThe day-long programme concluded with exhibition of tools, equipment &amp; accessories (TEA) used during search and rescue operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A day-long programme comprising of four sessions on disaster response and school safety, exhibition of tools, equipment &amp; accessories (TEA) used during search and rescue operation, painting competition for students of classes IX and X was held at St. Mary Higher Secondary School, Lerie, on March 7.
