Muslim council stressed that people from outside the state should not believe in rumours and false propaganda, but rather contact the MCD for any clarification or read its Facebook page for updated information.<br \/>\nWith its motto \u201cunity, integrity and communal harmony\u201d, MCD said it was duty bound to act as responsible NGO to take any steps to protect the dignity and honour of the bona fide Muslims of Dimapur as well as live with harmony and peace with the local Naga brothers and sisters. <br \/>\nMCD reiterated its appeal to the state government to formulate laws to flush out illegal Bangladeshi immigrants (IBIs) and streamline the flow of migrants with special reference to temporary Muslim legal migrants.<br \/>\nMCD while appreciating the efforts of the students and NGOs to flush out IBIs from Nagaland pointed out that Muslims have been peacefully living in Nagaland for the past hundred plus years. The council asserted it was evident from the establishment of the Grand Old Mosque at Hazi Park (1906) and Town Burial Ground at A H Road (1930). <br \/>\nHowever, MCD said lately due to the \u201ccontinuous influx of legal as well as illegal migrants\u201d, the genuine Muslims have been reduced to minority within the community and it has become very difficult to preserve the dignity and honour of the community.<br \/>\nOn the recent rape incident, MCD said it has brought disrepute and disrespect to the genuine Muslim community in Nagaland. <br \/>\nStating that it strongly appreciated and supported the movement started by the Survival Nagaland, NSF and other likeminded NGOs to curb influx of IBIs, MCD reminded of its appeal to the Nagaland government, published in this daily on February 15, 2012, to formulate laws to streamline the flow of migrants.
