Two suspects have been reportedly arrested in connection with the murder of two Naga women in Assam whose bodies were found on August 8 at two different locations in Assam along Mariani-Titabor road.<\/p>\n
According to sources, the two suspects reportedly hailed from Hulwating\/Amguri area in Assam and they were being interrogated by the police to ascertain facts and sequence of events that led to the murder.<\/p>\n
The same source said not much has been revealed by Assam police who were investigating into the case perhaps in an effort not to jeopardize further probe into the case.<\/p>\n
The Telegraph had also recently reported that the shopkeeper from whom the two women brought groceries in Hulwating had called up a family member and told them that the two had left in a van for Longleng. <\/p>\n
According to the report, on August 7 evening, a family member received a call from Benthang Phom, one of the victims, who was reportedly screaming: \u201chelp me\u201d and that was the last call made from the phone which was later found switched off. <\/p>\n
It may be mentioned that the bodies of two — A. Tiakala (27), daughter of late Alemkaba Phom of Yaongyimchen (Alayong) village, Longleng and Benthang Phom (40), daughter of Pongthet, also of Yaongyimchen (Alayong) village, Longleng were identified after the victims\u2019 relatives along with Longleng district authority reached Jorhat Medical College Hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
