{"id":138352,"date":"2015-02-14T23:06:48","date_gmt":"2015-02-14T23:06:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2015\/02\/14\/bjp-membership-drive-tour-concludes\/"},"modified":"2015-02-14T23:06:48","modified_gmt":"2015-02-14T23:06:48","slug":"bjp-membership-drive-tour-concludes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2015\/02\/14\/bjp-membership-drive-tour-concludes\/","title":{"rendered":"BJP membership drive tour concludes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>The two months second phase statewide BJP membership drive tour to all the districts culminated on February 13 at Mokokchung covering Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Zunheboto and Mokokchung.<br \/>\nThe final meeting was chaired by Limawati, District BJP President of Mokokchung, which was attended by senior state party leaders led by the State president Dr. M Chuba Ao. <br \/>\nYanghose Sangtam, convenor of membership drive, explained in detail the various aspects of the membership drive as applicable to all the party members, the membership targets to be achieved and systematic efforts that was required to achieve the desired results. He said the target of the membership drive was to register 10 crores party memberships several times more than the 6 crores plus memberships of the Communist party of China, the largest political party across the globe.<br \/>\nTill January end, BJP had registered 5 crores 40 lakhs members. He has requested the party supporters to dial 18002662020 to register online through phone or contact the nearest party office or office bearers to register through filled-in registration forms. The last date of registration is March 31.<br \/>\nJaangsillung Gonmei, convenor of social media for membership drive, presented details on the media aspects of the membership drive highlighting the facebook page www.facebook.com\/bjpsocialmedianagaland as the portal wherein any information related to the party\u2019s organization, policy and programmes as well as on membership registration could be obtained. <br \/>\nHe informed that no direct registration could be done on this portal but only through phones and filled-in forms of membership booklets already distributed through party office bearers. He has requested every party supporter to log on to&nbsp;&nbsp; www.facebook.com\/bjpsocialmedianagaland and \u2018Like\u2019 while interacting with the Social Media Administrators for more information on the party matters. <br \/>\nHe said Social Media page is an interactive media portal to disseminate information on the party and membership registration to aid the membership drive.<br \/>\nState BJP president, Dr. M Chuba Ao, and other State party officials addressed the meetings highlighting the party\u2019s policy, programmes and promising aspects under the Prime Minister Modi\u2019s NDA regime. <br \/>\nDr. M Chuba, speaking on the lines of membership drive, recounted the state\u2019s electoral history and emphasized that the winds of change was blowing in favor of the BJP and therefore welcomed the people to lend their support to BJP by their membership and be a part of a growing partnership of progress on all fronts under Prime Minister Modi\u2019s leadership. He said that a BJP government in the state would be a reality sooner or later. <br \/>\nBJYM State president, Kahoto Chishi, encouraged the youth to take initiatives and register as many youth as possible even in the far flung villages, while the State Kisan president, Lima Longchar, asked the party workers to work hard towards achieving the set target of enrollment by giving full cooperation within the allotted time frame of registration. Co-convenor of membership drive, Er. Sankathung Jami, spoke briefly to enthuse the crowd with vigour for achieving more than what has been set as target.<br \/>\nThe scheduled meeting at Tuensang was cancelled in the last hour because of the deteriorating law and order situation. In all the district meetings, several other state party leaders addressed and interacted with the party workers, public leaders and new members eager to join the party. <br \/>\nAmong new members who have declared support and registered for BJP were former NCP candidate and office bearers from Mon district and NCP state office bearers from Longleng. <br \/>\nState Secretary (Media) and Convenor, Social Media, Jaangsillung Gonmei, said several hundreds of new party members have been registered in the last two months and the process of registration is still in full swing. <br \/>\nHe said every district has registered a quantum jump in membership enrollments since the drive initiated and are nearing their set targets. <br \/>\nMeanwhile, Mon, Longleng and Mokokchung has set 15,300,2000 and 12,500 respectively as membership enrollment targets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The two months second phase statewide BJP membership drive tour to all the districts culminated on February 13 at Mokokchung covering Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Zunheboto and Mokokchung.
