The former \u2018Wham!\u2019 singer announced his involvement on Twitter, and Muse, who performed the official track for the Olympics, told NME magazine they would be involved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to keep everything a secret, as with the opening ceremony,\u201d the BBC quoted a Locog spokesman as saying.<br \/>\n\u201cThere\u2019s been rumours bandied about, particularly in the last 48 hours,\u201d the spokesman said.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony, which begins at 2100 BST on Sunday, is likely to be watched by a capacity 80,000 crowd at the Olympic Stadium, with a global TV audience that could match the estimated 900m who watched the opening of the Games.<\/p>\n<p>It will be called \u201cA Symphony of British Music\u201d and artistic director Kim Gavin said months ago the programme would span music from \u201cElgar to Adele\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpending most of the next week rehearsing like crazy for the Olympic closing ceremony&#8230;,\u201d Michael tweeted on Tuesday. \u201cObviously a bit nervous not having played for nearly a year, but rehearsals sounding great so far!\u201d he added. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While London 2012 officials are keen to keep secret details of Sunday\u2019s Olympic closing ceremony, George Michael and Muse have confirmed their involvement in the event.
