\nNPCC through its media cell, blamed NPF having absolute majority with 38 members and not the DAN coalition, for pushing the state into a situation where the leader of the house of 60 members, functioned with reduced strength of less than 31 members.
\nIt said in the even of either happening, all 38 NPF legislators would be made answerable for creating a \u201cdestabilising situation\u201d where the final outcome could affect settlement of the Naga political issue.
\nIn addition, NPCC said it was unfortunate that when the state was reeling under severe financial crisis, the political instability within NPF has paralysed all spheres of governance and created untold miseries on the people.
\nTaking a jab at the \u201centire political drama of power tussle within the NPF\u201d,NPCC said it noted with amusement that \u201cNPF dissidents, despite all their rhetoric, have failed even to move a no confidence motion against chief minister T.R.Zeliang\u201d. who \u201cin their own words\u201d was \u201cheading a minority government\u201d
\nNPCC said though Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie \u201cis still the NPF president in the eyes of the law\u201d yet his failure to \u201cexpel even a single dissident legislator from the party\u201d was to keep the door open so that any member could walk in. It said this only proved that the current crisis was all about \u201cgreed for plum portfolios and nothing else\u201d.
\nNPCC has also held the BJP, a pre-poll ally of the NPF, equally responsible for prolonging the crisis within NPF by first siding with the Kaito group, then withdrawing it later, \u201cafter much flip-flop\u201d. It said the \u201ctacit gamble of the BJP to gain a foothold in the state\u201d was discernible to all, as the \u201cbelated so-called neutrality of the BJP\u201d only further prolonged the instability within the NPF.
\nNPCC reiterated that the role of the Governor as the constitutional head of the state, was to uphold the sanctity of the constitution \u201cwithout bias or favour\u201d. However, it said while the prime minister\u2019s maxim was for \u201cminimum government and maximum governance\u201d; the state Governor was content with \u201cless governance and maximum government without stability\u201d and paralysing the entire state machinery.
\nNPCC said the prolonged crisis also reflected the \u201cindifference of the Hon\u2019ble Governor\u201d in allowing the chief minister to function without asking him to prove majority on the floor of the assembly\u201d and ascertain if \u201cthe dissidents are in majority to prove that the leader of the house is reduced to minority\u201d
\nAfter watching \u201cthe ongoing spectacle\u201d enacted by the NPF rival camps in public where each hurled accusations at each other, NPCC said it only vindicated the stand of the Congress, that NPF leaders in 12 years of power, have failed on all fronts, except raise the bar on \u201cblatant corruption\u201d and looting the state exchequer to land the state in a \u201cstaggering deficit\u201d of over Rs.2000 crore by the end of March 2015.
\nNPCC said the current political crisis would be settled \u201cif plum portfolios\u201d were reallocated among \u201cwarring NPF camps\u201d whose leaders were least bothered about people and issues of governance. NPCC said NPF leaders currently mudslinging at each other were \u201cselfish and greedy\u201d and would eventually \u201cforgive and forget, if their greed for power and access to accumulate wealth are satiated\u201d as in the past.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
