Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has termed state planning and parliamentary affairs minister T. R. Zeliang\u2019s statement blaming the state Congress of \u201cpoliticizing\u201d the August 31 incident as \u201cuncalled for, very irresponsible and unbecoming of a senior minister\u201d.<\/p>\n
In a statement, NPCC president S.I Jamir said that NPCC members have worked \u201ctirelessly\u201d in meeting different organizations and conducting meetings to diffuse the tense situation and did not seek \u201climelight nor any publicity\u201d for its efforts. <\/p>\n
Stating that situation in Dimapur was being diffused, NPCC thanked Naga civil society organizations for their contributions to bringing peace at Dimapur and to the Naga society.<\/p>\n
It has reiterated that the incident at Kohima was purely the failure of the state Government in checking NGOs and allowing them to take the law in their hands creating \u201cunwanted\u201d situations in fragile Naga society. <\/p>\n
NPCC added that the \u201ctension and arson\u201d that followed in Dimapur on September 1, escalated due to the failure of the district adminstration. <\/p>\n
While condemning the \u201clackadaisical and indifferent\u201d attitude of those people at the helms of affairs including district administration and law enforcing agencies, NPCC has lauded Kanito of Keltomi Village, the father of Late Kivika for showing true Christian spirit in forgiving the culprits.
