GPRN\/NSCN Monday expressed its dismay and condemned the actions of NSCN (I-M) cadres who arrested its members and accused the group of not even sparing \u201cunarmed workers\u201d in and around Senapati, Shepoumaranth region. <\/p>\n
In a statement, GPRN\/NSCN MIP said the public call to cease all forms of factional clashes to uphold the spirit of brotherhood for reconciliation has fallen into the deaf ears of NSCN (I-M) cadres. <\/p>\n
According to GPRN\/NSCN, various political groups came together and decided to work towards a shared Naga common future by signing the \u201cNaga concordant\u201d which agreed that there would be only \u201cone Naga political solution\u201d. <\/p>\n
Since May 2008, Naga political leaders took up courageous step to narrow down differences making it possible for Nagas to experience relative calm with cessation of \u201chostilities among brethrens\u201d, said MIP.<\/p>\n
However, MIP rued that despite GPRN\/NSCN\u2019s enthusiasm for reconciliation, \u201cfive national workers of GPRN\/NSCN\u201d were arrested under the directive of \u2018brigadier\u2019 Souni of NSCN (I-M), commander of Huthrong brigade.<\/p>\n
Stating the arrests were detrimental to reconciliation, MIP listed GPRN\/NSCN members who were arrested by NSCN (I-M) cadres as \u2018razu peyu\u2019 Kaisu (Rocky), arrested on March 2012 and released on bail after three months with a fine of Rs. 20000\/- and \u2018sgt.maj\u2019 Alas arrested on June 29 and released with the fine of Rs.20000\/-, <\/p>\n
MIP said in August this year alone, NSCN (I-M) cadres have arrested three \u201cNaga Armies\u201d namely \u2018sgt.maj.\u2019 Loli Moses arrested on August 22, \u2018luit\u2019. Deikho arrested on August 26, \u2018capt.\u2019 Kumar arrested on August 29 and they were still in the group\u2019s custody. <\/p>\n
GPRN\/NSCN opined that \u201carrogance\u201d of the commander, Huthrong brigade demoralized the commitment of \u201csix top leaders\u201d and said it was compelled to release a press statement so that the NSCN (I-M) higher-ups took corrective measures before it was too late. <\/p>\n
MIP pointed out that there was the need to show greater understanding to \u201ceach other\u2019s concerns and sensitivities\u201d and added that it was time to move beyond reiteration of positions and instead uphold the \u201cethical commitment\u201d of leaders at any cost. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
