The silence of the beautiful green valley of Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan was broken with the eruption of Howey music by International Indian band Abiogenesis from Dimapur, on August 15 in front of a mammoth gathering at the Clock Tower, at the heart of Thimpu.
\nThis was the launch of Bhutan Star season 3, the most popular reality show in Bhutan to find the best singing star in Bhutan. <\/p>\n
Abiogenesis performed their brand of Howey music from their three albums ‘Aeon Spell’, ‘Rustic Relish’ and ‘Slice of Heaven’. The crowd was responsive and sang Howey Howey along with Arenla, the vocalist of the band.
\nLater the same day, in the evening, Abiogenesis performed at the Indian Ambassador’s 800 capacity hall at the Indian Embassy in Bhutan attended by a host of dignitaries.
\nThe programme was organized by the Indian Embassy to celebrate the 64th Anniversary of Indian Independence Day. When the band started performing, the crowd started clapping and sang howey along. <\/p>\n
After the show, the band members were presented with a bouquet by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk. Other dignitaries included the Prime Minister of Bhutan along with his cabinet ministers and MPs, 2 Princesses from the Royal Family, Diplomats of various Embassies in Bhutan, the Indian Ambassador and his wife, Director of Nehru Wangchuk Cultural Centre, Thimpu etc.
\nThe Prime Minister lauded the band for their fantastic music and said \u201cYou will be coming back to Bhutan\u201d.
\nEveryone praised this new form of world music enchanted by the sound of the Bamhum.
\nBoth the shows were shown live on Bhutan National Television CBBS available in 42 countries.
\nAbiogenesis’ third performance at Bhutan was at Phuntsoling at the Phuntsoling Higher Secondary School’s auditorium.
\nThe packed 1000 capacity crowd went frenzy when the concert kicked off on August 18 by singing and dancing along with the music.
\nThe young and newly found fans were seen asking for autographs and taking pictures with the band members after the show. <\/p>\n
The Phuntsoling show was organized by the Consulate General of India, India House, Phuntsoling, Bhutan.
