Normally, the first teeth don\u2019t come through until the infant is aged between six months and one year.
\nBut little Summer Whelan was born with two pearly white incisors in her lower gums.
\nHer parents Karen and Andy, from Wallsend in Newcastle, have already booked her into the dentist for the first time – even though she is less than a month old.<\/p>\n
The 7lb 1oz baby was born at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary on July 20.
\nSummer\u2019s toothy grin is a family trait as her grandmother, 76-year-old Shirley Burnit, who lives in Howdon, North Tyneside, was also born with two front teeth.
\nHer proud mother, Karen, 31, said: \u2018It was really funny, when I went into labour Andy was telling me and my mam about how his mam was born with two front teeth.
\n\u2018We were just laughing at him, but as soon as Summer was born, she was crying and I was shouting: \u201cShe\u2019s got two front teeth.\u201d<\/p>\n
Now Karen and Andy, 35, who live with Karen\u2019s two other children Chirelle, 15 and Dylan, 9, have been inundated with guests.
\nFriends and family are flocking round to see the newest addition\u2019s unusual smile, and have even shelled out on the one thing she truly needs – a tiny toothbrush.
\nKaren said: \u2018Andy\u2019s sister, Sonja, bought her a toothbrush and she\u2019s already got her first appointment at the dental hospital.<\/p>\n
\u2018It takes most babies six months to a year to grow their first teeth, but Summer had two pearly whites from the start.\u2019 <\/p>\n
