52nd freshers social function of the Naga Students\u2019 Union Shillong (NSUS) was held on September 22 at Naga Community Hall, Nongrim Hills, Shillong. The event witnessed a turnout of more than a thousand enthusiastic people both students and elders. <\/p>\n
The chief guest of the function, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, National Member & Farmer representative, Fertilizers Forum, Ministry of chemicals & Fertilizers. Govt of India in his speech urged upon the Naga youngsters to take positive actions and contribute something good to the society so that each of us can be a blessing to not only our people but also to the entire North East and India as a whole. <\/p>\n
He encouraged the youth to be independent and sovereign within oneself and to break all regional and geographical barriers without confining to one\u2019s own boundary. <\/p>\n
He also stressed on the fact that, as a Naga one should be a blessing and a positive influence wherever we are, and start thinking beyond our closed-up groups. Ejanthung Ngullie, general secretary of Naga Students\u2019 Federation who was the guest of honour urged the freshers to take part in transforming the Naga nation. <\/p>\n
The function also witnessed the presence of popular bands such as MTV Europe music award nominees, Alobo Naga and the Band who enthralled the gathering as the guest band and a surprise appearance by Alo Wanth, a prominent musician from Nagaland. <\/p>\n
The union thanked each and every participant for the success of the programme and also requested the general public, particularly the youth to vote for Alobo & The Band so as to enable the band to bring laurel to the region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
