Seeking state chief minister\u2019s \u201cimmediate intervention for necessary rectification and approval of only feasible projects\u201d to be carried out under the \u201cRs. 333 crore special plan assistance (SPA)\u201d allocated to the Eastern Nagaland districts, Eastern Naga Students\u2019 Federation (ENSF) Wednesday said that the grievances of the ENSF under SPA was not addressed appropriately looking into the current work programme, 2012-13. <\/p>\n
Expressing dismay over the \u201cmarginal fund allocation in various departments of the State to the Eastern Nagaland under the Annual State Budget\u201d, Eastern Naga Students\u2019 Federation said that the current approval and distribution of fund under SPA for Eastern Nagaland \u201cseems like a fund for few individual\/firm\/agency\/contractor (s) if not rectified urgently\u201d.
\nIn this regard, ENSF said it continued to oppose the \u201cfunds allocated on the ongoing works under SPA exclusively for Eastern Nagaland.\u201d <\/p>\n
ENSF speaker Throngso Yimchunger and general secretary Changsang Soted said that the federation earlier had also submitted a representation to the chief minister seeking necessary rectification and approval of only feasible and important projects under SPA. <\/p>\n
In another representation, the ENSF urged the chief minister to \u201creview and approve only fresh projects\/works to be carried out under SPA.\u201d It said that the federation had also \u201cresolved not to allow funds to be diverted to the ongoing works\/projects\u201d. <\/p>\n
ENSF further said that \u201cfunds under SPA for new projects in all the department(s) under Eastern Nagaland districts should be allocated only to the capable and eligible Eastern Naga contractor(s) and supplier(s).\u201d <\/p>\n
It also cautioned that no work\/projects would be allowed to be carried out under any situation in the event of department(s) failing to comply with the request and if works are allocated to non-Eastern Nagas.<\/p>\n
The federation said it had also \u201cdenounced earlier the random targeting of projects under SPA through print media on 22nd August and 18th September 2012 as disbursing of funds on ongoing projects would not generate much importance and would be against the wishes for the welfare of Eastern Nagas\u201d. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
