Thomas Ngullie Saturday urged freshers to know their responsibility in order to move forward with this fast changing world. <\/p>\n<p>Ngullie said this while speaking as chief guest at the XXXth freshers\u2019 meet of Dimapur Kyong Students\u2019 Union (DKSU) at Lotha Hoho Ki Dimapur. <\/p>\n<p>Discouraged by the less turn out, the former minister said the occasion was a \u201cget-together\u201d, and urged those handful freshers to maintain discipline and not to be taken away by the ever rising unwanted activities in the society. <\/p>\n<p>According to Ngullie, \u201cThis is the right time to nurture the freshers in order to make them compete and excel in this competitive world\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>The chief guest also expressed saddeness by the attitude of youngsters in this present society as many fail to live up to the expectation of the churches, villages and the society. To this, he urged the gathering to give more importance on their studies and not to be carried away by the physical appearance. <\/p>\n<p>Ngullie also urged the student leaders to look beyond northeast and keep in touch with the global changing world. \u201cWith your limited horizon, it is you (youth) should take the responsibility to move ahead\u201d, Ngullie added. <\/p>\n<p>Talking on issues of development, Ngullie said Dimapur has become too congested and that if the youth come together and join hands, a new model town can be developed in the state. <\/p>\n<p>For this he said that a proposed railway link between Dimapur and Tizit which is in the offing could open up many new avenues to those unemployed and development activities in the region would take place once the work begins. He went on to add that the survey on this railway was in progress. <\/p>\n<p>Areas like Ralan, Chanpang, Merapani and Tsori which has rich coal and oil reserves would be highly benefitted through this propose rail link, he added. DNSU president, Mhachieo Odyuo in his greetings told the freshers to stay focused , and urged them to put God first in everything they do. <\/p>\n<p>Former president of DKSU, Mhonchumo Ovung in his brief speech urged the students not to go after pleasures in life but to be consistent in their work. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe trouble you have taken in just a first step\u201d, he added. On the occasion, meritorious HSLC and HSSLC students were felicitated and dedication was done by associate pastor Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church, Rev.
