{"id":145174,"date":"2013-02-15T01:16:56","date_gmt":"2013-02-15T01:16:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/02\/15\/rahul-assures-focus-on-enpo-area-2\/"},"modified":"2013-02-15T01:16:56","modified_gmt":"2013-02-15T01:16:56","slug":"rahul-assures-focus-on-enpo-area-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/02\/15\/rahul-assures-focus-on-enpo-area-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Rahul assures focus on ENPO area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/PFNVDLTBJRZHMMEQIAGO.jpg><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">ConGress promises early solution to Naga political issue<\/span><br \/>\nRahul Gandhi, vice president of the AICC, drew thousands of people at Congress election rallies in Mon and Tuensang Thursday, where he promised, that if voted to power, the Congress will usher in early solution to the Naga political issue and ensure genuine all-round development of&nbsp; ENPO areas.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a rally in Tuensang local ground, Rahul told over ten thousand people that the Congress has heard their voice and promised that it would give special focus to eastern Nagaland, which has been neglected during the past ten years. <\/p>\n<p>He also pointed out Eastern Nagaland and its people were deprived of equal treatment by the NPF-led DAN government and promised, that if Congress was voted to power, it will take remedial measures.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Referring to the deplorable road conditions in Nagaland, Rahul pointed out that the UPA government had sanctioned huge amount of money for road construction. <\/p>\n<p>He said people and not the chief minister and cabinet ministers suffer because of deplorable road condition. <\/p>\n<p>He said while the rest of India was moving \u201cvery fast\u201d in progress, Nagaland was lagging behind and therefore reminded people that it was time for a change to transform Nagaland.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Rahul said it was the duty of any government in power in the state, to guarantee the future of Nagaland\u2019s progress with development of good roads, infrastructure, education and health sectors. <\/p>\n<p>The function was chaired by AICC coordinator J.K. Bhagat while DCC president N. Mosha Chang delivered the welcome speech. All Congress candidates from seven constituencies of Tuensang district also were present during the election meeting.<\/p>\n<p>MON: Earlier at a mammoth rally at Mon local ground, Rahul Gandhi assured that the UPA government would make all efforts for an early settlement to the Naga political issue&nbsp;&nbsp; so that peace was ushered for all round development in Nagaland. He reaffirmed the UPA government\u2019s sincerity in resolving the Naga issue that would be honourable and acceptable to all sections of people.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Rahul Gandhi also recalled how traditional Naga democratic village system had inspired his father, late Rajiv Gandhi, in taking major initiatives to use the model for enhancing the panchayati system in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Praising Naga culture and history, the AICC vice president described Nagas as \u201cenergetic, capable and successful competitors\u201d outside the state. He was optimistic that if given the opportunity, Nagas could bring about changes within and beyond for the future development of the people.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Rahul reiterated the Congress party\u2019s commitment to peace, unity and prosperity of the country with special focus on backward regions. <\/p>\n<p>He said Congress party treated all communities equally with special focus on the poorest of the poor. <br \/>\nHe hit out at the DAN government for failure to provide equal opportunities to people and ignoring the development of ENPO areas. <\/p>\n<p>Rahul said the glaring example was how it took him 30 minutes to reach the venue in Mon from the helipad due to deplorable road condition.&nbsp; He said chief minister Rio had developed the backward areas only through \u201cpapers and lip-services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rahul also cited forced retirement of government employees which had affected the lives of families who have lost their future. He also appealed to people&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cstop the habit of corruption\u201d for a new Nagaland.<\/p>\n<p>Those who also addressed the rally-&nbsp;&nbsp; former chief minister and governor Dr. S.C Jamir, CLP leader Tokheho and Arunachal chief minister Nabam Tuki hit out at the DAN government of misrule and corrupt practices. <\/p>\n<p>Some of the issues raised included misuse of sanctions under RMSA, road conditions, 6th RoP, forced retirement etc. The three also described the DAN government as a \u201cbusiness government, working for themselves\u201d rather than for the development of the people and the state. <\/p>\n<p>Other who attended the rally includes AICC general secretary Luizinho Falerio, Congress leaders I.
