{"id":14595,"date":"2013-02-16T22:27:21","date_gmt":"2013-02-16T22:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/02\/16\/vcs-student-union-ban-camp-use-of-liquor\/"},"modified":"2013-02-16T22:27:21","modified_gmt":"2013-02-16T22:27:21","slug":"vcs-student-union-ban-camp-use-of-liquor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/02\/16\/vcs-student-union-ban-camp-use-of-liquor\/","title":{"rendered":"VCs, student union ban camp, use of liquor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>In view of the ensuing state assembly elections, various village and colony councils in and around Dimapur have adopted resolutions for conduct of free and fair elections.<\/p>\n<p>The resolutions decided to restrict setting up of youth camps, inflow of liquor, and interference of outsiders within its jurisdiction and has appealed residents and candidates to abide by its resolutions.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">UCC: <\/span>United colony council, ward no.20 has resolved to ban any political parties from setting up of youth camp within its jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>UCC has also resolved to ban on use of alcohol and any other intoxicant during the ensuing election and also not to allow any \u201coutsiders\u201d to enter its jurisdiction on the polling day. The council has warned that it would take \u201cextreme\u201d action those involved in creation unwanted situation in the colony.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">PVC:<\/span> Padumpukhuri village council (PVC) Dimapur in a meeting held on February 15 has resolved to adhere on the following resolutions.<\/p>\n<p>No political party\/individual\/group was allowed to bring \u201coutsiders\u201d and interfere in the polling process. PVC would action against any defaulters caught.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Ward no. 13, Dimapur: <\/span>For conduct of free and fair election, GBs and joint councils of ward no. 13 comprising of Landmark, Midland and Residency colonies have resolved not to allow interference of any outsiders within the jurisdiction of Ward No. 13.<\/p>\n<p>According Khehuto Zhimomi, GB Midland, ward authority would strictly check outsiders within the colonies till the polling day and would also start surveillance along with security forces starting from February 20. <\/p>\n<p>Stating that outsiders would not be allowed to enter the polling station premises on the polling day, GB also informed that stern action would be taken against any land\/house owner who harbors outsiders.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">IV\/LRC colony council: <\/span>IV\/LRC colony council during its emergency meeting held on January 27 has resolved not to allow political parties youth camps set up within IV\/LRC colony.<\/p>\n<p>The colony council has informed that all intending candidates were welcomed to address open public meeting. The council also informed that detailed council members would check all illegal and proxy voters under polling station-III of ward-10, Dimapur and would assist polling officials and legal voters for smooth conduct of voting on the polling day.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">MSSU: <\/span>Western Sumi Students Union (MSSU) has urged upon all citizens especially students to cast its vote for the right leader. MSSU in a release has urged all students not to indulge in any anti-social activities like drinking, violence and proxy voting. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">NPBCA:<\/span> Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association (NPBCA) has appealed to all right thinking Nagas to uphold clean election campaign initiated by NBCC and to decease from all malpractices in the upcoming state assembly election.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">WDGBA: <\/span>Wokha District GB\u2019s Association (WDGBA) has appealed to all public\/voters for fair and peaceful election conduct in all the polling stations in their respective villages and towns. The association also appealed the citizens of Wokha district to co-operate with the district administration.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">YAN: <\/span>Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) at an emergency meeting held on February 16 at the office headquarter decided to stand and support NBCC\u2019s clean election campaign. YAN has appealed to youth to take the right decision in choosing its leader in the upcoming state election.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">AKC: <\/span>Aokong Colony council in an effort to ensure smooth conduct of the ensuing assembly elections has banned setting up of youth camp by any political parties within its jurisdiction. <\/p>\n<p>The council has also cautioned that any person(s) creating unwanted situations under the influence of alcohol and any other unwanted activities would be penalized as deem fit.
