Additional market, Central Market at Seru, Box Cutting road NH-29 was opened Friday Kohima by CEO Kohima Municipal Council Lithrongla Tongpi.\nThis three-storied market has 62 chambers facilitating the citizens with vegetables, clothes, meat and other essential commodities.
\nIn her address at the launching programme, CEO stressed on the importance of sanitation, saying that market was just not the construction and getting revenue but most importantly, maintenance should be priority.
\nShe asked the proprietors Atuo and Neikuo Sekhose to ensure that all traders strictly follow the timing for disposal of garbage and segregate the vegetables, food and plastics at source.
\nLithrongla also asked the proprietors to educate the traders from day one, so that the market would become the face of the town and Sekhose clan as well. Also, she asserted that since highway was accident prone area precautionary measures should be taken so that accidents could be avoided.
\nWhile congratulating the proprietors and the Sekhose Clan for taking the initiative in opening the shop, she also sought co-operation from the traders and also assured to extend KMC help.
\nDr. Ahu Sekhose, who chaired the launching programme, also stressed on sanitation and urged the traders to cultivate sense of responsibility, civic sense and keep the market clean.
