Temjenchila, wife of late Ayutongpang Longchar of Lirmen village celebrated her 104th birthday Friday at a tiny village in Nagaland-Assam border at Akumen village (Lirmen-B), Mokokchung district. \nHer husband, who passed away in 1987, was a school teacher (Guru training holder from Jorhat) served in Lirmen followed by Alongtaki Tzukong School. He helped the Akumen villagers to establish School in Akumen and volunteered to teach the children till 1978-79.
\nTemjenchila is also biological sister of late Rev. L. Kijungluba, the first missionary and executive secretary of ABAM in the post American missionary era at Impur. She is blessed with five sons and three daughters all living besides 55 first grand children, 75 second great grand children and 11 third great grand children totalling to 150 grand and great grand children.
\nOn the sidelines of this auspicious occasion, when asked about her secrets for good health and longevity, Temjenchila was very prompt and told the gathering that she always loved to lead a true Christian life with honesty. Also, early to bed and early to rise was one of her principles.
\nUnlike other older people of her contemporary, she is very enthusiastic and takes proactive approaches for the conservation of the surroundings including protection of Forest and Wildlife even at this age. She keeps updating her interest in the day to day happenings around her tiny village including prices of the essential commodities.
\nApart from her Akumen village, a host of relatives and well-wishers from far and near graced the occasion and prayed for her further wellbeing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
