\nThe Samaj has requested all the puja pandals to conduct painting, poster, essay and Quiz competitions in their respective pandals on the theme so that the pandals can be an education centre to educate people on cleanliness and saving power energy.
\nIn its desire to celebrate the festival of victory of good on bad in peace, the Samaj said that it is necessary to abide by the following rules and regulations:
\n1. All Puja committees are requested to perform the pujas in the true religious spirit. Proper discipline and decorum should be maintained at all cost, so that the image of Hindu faith is held high.
\n2. All puja pandals should be erected in such a way that they do not disturb public thoroughfare and pandals should display posters and banners on the theme of \u201cClean Dimapur, Green Dimapur, Save Energy\u201d
\n3. Loud speakers should be played in such a way that they do not disturb the neighbourhood and general public. By any cost the sound system should be off by 10 p.m.
\n4. All puja Committees are requested to keep a strict vigil to prevent and ban the consumption of alcohol during the days of puja and immersion functions. Consumption of alcohol should be discouraged at all cost as it is against the Hindu culture & faith.
\n5. Only devotional songs and music should be played in the Puja pandals. Playing of drums, cymbals and conchs are the part of our culture and should be encouraged.
\n6. All Puja Committees are requested to keep a strict vigil on the suspected or unclaimed articles like bag, cartoon etc. lying in or around the Puja Pandals, they must immediately inform the concerned Police Station to avoid any untoward incident.
\n7. All puja committees are requested to ban the use of plastics, plastic food plates and plastic glasses during pujas. Make the puja pandals more eco-friendly. Try to propagate the theme.
\n8. On the Vijaya Dashmi Day the procession for the immersion will start sharp at 9.30 am, on 04\/10\/2014 from the City Tower Junction. The trucks carrying the idols are requested to assemble at the City Tower Junction and occupy their respective sequence. Only one truck is allowed for each Puja Committee in the procession.
\n9. Members of all Puja Committees are requested to wear the ethnic \/ traditional costumes or white Chola-pyjamas during the immersion procession in order to show uniformity and integrity.
\n10. In order to Control the river pollution, all puja committees are requested not to bring any type of waste along with the Idols. As per the advice of the Nagaland Pollution Control Board, we should cooperate with them in keeping our Dhansari River free from Pollution.
\n11. Every Puja Committee is requested to bring any unattended idol lying on the road side for immersion so that the idols are not desecrated.
\n12. All Puja Committees are requested to control their own members and prevent scuffles with the other puja committees or general public. Immersion is a solemn ceremony so strict discipline and religious decorum should be maintained and as well avoid such actions by which the religious sentiments of other communities may hurt.
\n13. All Puja committees are given 15 Volunteer cards along with two guest cards. Only the card holders will be permitted inside the Ghat and they are requested to take proper care of their Idols till the Immersion. The Volunteers of every Puja Committee are requested to take charge of their truck carring the Idols till the Immersion.
\n14. All puja committee are requested to avoid the use of candles and are requested to use only diyas\/ deepaks (Oil Lamp) in their pandals and temples. Candles spread pollution as are made of chemicals whereas diyas and deepaks are more eco-freindly.
\n15. All Puja Committees are requested to co-operate with the District Administration, Police, Dimapur Municipal Corporation and Hindu Seva Samiti to ensure a smooth and joyous conduct of the pujas and immersion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
