Hornbill will not only showcase the culture, tradition and music of the Nagas but the festival will also showcase talents in fashion industry. The annual Hornbill Fashion Show by department of tourism and department of art and culture in association with Hope Centre for Excellence is an effort to promote Naga talents in fashion industry.\nThe show which is scheduled to be held on December 4 at The Heritage Bamboo Hall, Kisama will showcase the designs of two Naga designers— Stephen Lotha and Bambi Kevichusa.
\nStephen Lotha–designer for The Connect Studio, Dimapur is a stylist and fashion designer has worked for past seven years with fashion magazines like Harpers Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, The Man Magazine etc. He has styled fashion shows for Marks and Spencers, Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Blackberrys, Vero Moda, Jack and Jones, Levis and Numero UNO. Lotha has also shot campaigns for Adidas, L.G, US Polo, Wills, Yamaha, Nestle etc. and worked with Indian Cinema actresses and sports icon like Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, Diya Mirza, Anushka Manchanda, Virat Kohli etc.
\nHe has also worked with the top photographers Suresh Naratanjan, Tarun Vishwa, Anand Gogoi Ashish Shah, Rahul Dutta, Suvo Das, Martin Pirhoda, Ashish Chawla.
\nSharing his experience working with The Connect Studio (TCS), Stephen said \u201cTCS has the most efficient and impressive set up than most designer workshops in any metropolitan cities.\u201d
\nStephen derives inspiration from happiness and fantasy, he design for a woman who is willing to celebrate her individuality, someone fun and opinionated and man who are effortless and is not afraid to dress up or dress down.
\nStephen in his collection will be revisiting classical silhouettes with a contemporary twist. Bambi Kevichusa–a designer from Nagaland who works under the label \u2018Bambi K\u2019 specialized in bridal couture also works as a designer for children\u2019s wear under the label, \u2018Windfall\u2019.
\nA graduate of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, Bambi is known for her \u201cclean understated elegance\u201d design style.
\nBambi shared her experience on the pre production of the fashion show, \u201cthe more you do these kinds of shows the more you know what to expect – to expect even the unexpected sometimes, especially backstage. But we take it all in our stride, and it\u2019s all fun at the end of the day.\u201d
\nBambi said that inspiration could come from music. Sometimes, it\u2019s a person or a place or culture. There are no limits. Bambi on her collection said that it is a celebration of the richness of autumn and simplicity and beauty of the bias cut, she added.
\nMusic director and choreographer for the show, Nise Meruno said that clothes would be wearable and practical ready for retail and opined that designs should not be looked upon as a source of entertainment but as a viable profession.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
