{"id":14706,"date":"2013-01-28T23:10:05","date_gmt":"2013-01-28T23:10:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/01\/28\/art-exhibition-in-delhi-to-promote-naga-culture\/"},"modified":"2013-01-28T23:10:05","modified_gmt":"2013-01-28T23:10:05","slug":"art-exhibition-in-delhi-to-promote-naga-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/01\/28\/art-exhibition-in-delhi-to-promote-naga-culture\/","title":{"rendered":"Art exhibition in Delhi to promote Naga culture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Art exhibition cum sale under the theme \u2018Unity in diversity\u2019 on tribal contemporary Art of Nagaland sponsored by JK Tyre would be organized at Nagaland house Delhi in the 3rd week of February to promote Naga culture outside the state. <\/p>\n<p>Cynthia Kolakhe an artist by profession said the exhibition would be jointly organized by Among Longkumer (designer) and Pranit Katwal (photographer) from Bhutan.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to this correspondent on Monday at Hive Caf\u00e9 Jail colony Kohima, Cynthia who did her degree from the college of Arts Delhi and 3D animation from Picasso digital Media Delhi expressed her strong passion for art, stating she has been in this field for the last 10 years since high school. <\/p>\n<p>She said her paintings were sent abroad like UK, US, Hong Kong etc., recognized by Kingdom International fellowship Delhi after she won the first prize in painting competition.<\/p>\n<p>Cynthia disclosed that very soon she would be opening a beauty store at jail colony Kohima with the hope of expanding her work and offer service to art lovers in the state. Besides different designs and painting, she also designed T- shirt for Alobo Naga and band which was featured on MTV recently.<\/p>\n<p>She also shared how she struggled as an artist and painter in the state with hardly any encouragement and weak marketing. <\/p>\n<p>She said art works are more appreciated outside the state, adding the state government and people in the state should realize the value of art. <\/p>\n<p>Her paintings are on display for sale at Hive Caf\u00e9 Jail colony Kohima.<br \/>\nImli Imchen, recording artiste, guitarist Ukulele player and music composer involved in Church Ministry Mumbai interacting with this correspondent said there was hardly any revenue for professionals in the field of art and music in the state. <\/p>\n<p>Music has been an integral part of his life since childhood; however Imchen feels he still has room to improve.<\/p>\n<p>Imli said he participated in India\u2019s biggest music festival \u201cWeekender\u201d open concert NH-7 in Pune&nbsp; last year and at various national level events. <\/p>\n<p>He opined that more avenues and opportunities for talented young people of the state should be created for sustainability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Art exhibition cum sale under the theme \u2018Unity in diversity\u2019 on tribal contemporary Art of Nagaland sponsored by JK Tyre would be organized at Nagaland house Delhi in the 3rd week of February to promote Naga culture outside the state.
