Acharya has called on all including the Churches to play a role for the progress and development of Nagaland.<br \/>\nThe Governor was speaking at the freshers\u2019 cum annual social day of Unity College of Teacher Education, Dimapur at its college premises on Friday.<br \/>\nP.B. Acharya while lamenting the current state of the economy and development of the state said Nagaland could not remain in a state of \u201cdeficit\u201d and pointed out that the state was rich with resources like petroleum and hydro power potentials. <br \/>\nHe said Nagaland was rich but Nagas were poor and asked who was responsible for current state of affairs. <br \/>\nThe governor also revealed that even the Raj Bhawan experienced power shortage and there were about \u201cfive power-cuts daily.\u201d <br \/>\nStating that the fruits of India\u2019s independence have not reached every part of the country equitably, the governor called on all to play a role for progress and development.<br \/>\nCommenting on education, the governor said getting a degree from a college was the \u201cbeginning of life\u201d pointing out that for the progress of the nation, education should be the base. <br \/>\n\u201cWe belong to the country which has potentiality to become great country of the world,\u201d the governor said. He asked the students present to \u201cnot only run\u201d after government jobs but also become entrepreneurs. <br \/>\nHe has also once again expressed dismay with the practice of proxy school teachers in the state. Earlier on his arrival, the governor laid a foundation stone for a girl\u2019s hostel building and launched the college website and released the college magazines and journal. <br \/>\nResources for empowering society<br \/>\nThe governor also visited ICFAI University campus, Dimapur where he addressed faculty and students. <br \/>\nIn his speech, the Governor said the abundant natural resources of Nagaland could be utilized to empower and educate the youth in the society. <br \/>\nHe also said that receiving education and acquiring degrees were not an end to themselves but the beginning of empowerment. <br \/>\nThe governor encouraged the students and others to work together and cultivate work culture and to change one\u2019s mindset so as to meet the needs of the country while making Nagaland peaceful and powerful in all aspects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland Governor P.B.
