Angelina Jolie is many things. Oscar-winning actress. Acclaimed director. Mother to six and wife to little-known character actor Brad Pitt. But down the road \u2014 well, maybe she\u2019ll be something else…\nJolie (39) spoke with Vanity Fair about a whole host of topics, including whether or not she thinks politics may play a part in her future. While she continues to serve as director and special envoy for the United Nation\u2019s High Commissioner for Refugees, she may be up for more work in that arena, saying she is \u201copen\u201d to a life in politics, diplomacy, or public service.
\nJolie explained that her role with the UN has opened her eyes to what\u2019s possible, but she\u2019s also aware that people will likely always see her as a movie star first and foremost.
\n\u201cIf you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility,\u201d she told the magazine.
\n\u201cBut I honestly don\u2019t know in what role I would be more useful \u2014 I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible.\u201d
\nWould that mean calling in quits with Hollywood? Jolie isn\u2019t saying? But seeing as she has been a success in just about every endeavor she\u2019s tackled (we\u2019ll give her a pass for the Cinemax-esque thriller Original Sin), and has an otherworldly talent for juggling commitments, we wouldn\u2019t be surprised if she were to go full on into politics while continuing to dominate the box office.
\nJolie also spoke about her life as a newlywed. She tells Vanity Fair that despite having been in a committed relationship to Pitt for years, things have changed since they tied the knot in August. \u201cIt does feel different,\u201d she said. \u201cIt feels nice.\u201d
