Mersen conducted block-wise demonstration on proper construction of IHHL (Individual Household Latrine) starting from January 25 covering Niuland, Kuhuboto, Dhansiripar, and Medziphema blocks. <\/p>\n<p>The demonstration programme would culminate on January 30. Technology options for construction of IHHL are: offset type unlined pit, offset type lined pit, ventilated improved pit, direct pit, and twin pit. <\/p>\n<p>Emphasis was given on construction of one lined pit latrine requiring just 120 bricks, 25 kgs cement, 2 bags of sand and 4 kgs of 6mm coil. <\/p>\n<p>The main focus of total sanitation campaign is to enable each and every rural BPL household to get access to improved sanitation facilities through Individual Household latrine (IHHL) which in turn will lead to better health conditions of the rural population. <\/p>\n<p>The demonstration of IHHL construction in all the four blocks are\/will be held in the presence of village council members, WATSAN members and Youth representatives. <\/p>\n<p>Other officials present at the demo site were Er. Wati (J.E. Niuland), Er. Hukali (J.E.
