Chief minister T.R. Zeliang said BJP and NPF were pre-poll partners since 2003 and said though BJP has set up its own candidate for the bye-poll, he said the alliance would continue.<br \/>\nStating that the opportunity created by former chief minister and Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio should not be misused, Zeliang appealed the gathering to work together for the NPF candidate to make the tally of NPF to 38 and DAN-III to 52.<br \/>\nHe said if Dr. Neiphrezo wins the election, the constituency would gain weightage having one MP in Delhi and an MLA from Northern Angami-II constituency. <br \/>\nZeliang said if \u201cyou\u201d clear the road today, it would be wider in future and appealed the supporters\/voters, women wings and youth wings to work hard and come out victoriously.<br \/>\nNo \u2018friendly contest\u2019: Rio<br \/>\nReacting to the idea of a \u201cfriendly contest\u201d between NPF and BJP as the two were alliance partners in the state, former chief minister and current MP Neiphiu Rio Tuesday said&nbsp; the two parties were allies but were two different political parties and the election should not be a friendly contest. <br \/>\nMinister in-charge of the district Kiyanelie Peseyie in his brief address said NPF had the majority in DAN-III but NPF\u2019s victory in the bye-election would be more advantageous for the constituency.<br \/>\nThe NPF candidate Dr. Neiphrezo in his address said state and national politics differed as NPF was contesting against the national party and appealed his supporters not to be discouraged as BJP-led NDA were national ruling party. <br \/>\nHe assured to work for the welfare of the old, young and the farmers. <br \/>\nHosts of ministers, parliamentary secretaries, advisors, MLAs, NPF central leaders, party workers, supporters and over than 4000 people attended the campaign kickoff programme. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Naga People Front (NPN) president Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie Liezietsu Tuesday said NPF stood for Nagas and their rights and asked them not to slide back but have a clear vision in taking the party and the people forward.
