Advisor DUDA, E.E. Pangteang Konyak on Monday while reminding that responsibility of the DBs was to assist and strengthen the administration said DBs were the real government of the district and they should be well aware of their duties and responsibility, and deliver justice to the people. <\/p>\n
He was speaking at the newly constructed DB customary law court of Mon in the presence of the district administration, government officials, NGOs, public leaders, senior citizens and DBs & GBs. <\/p>\n
Citing that administrative officers come and go while DBs were posted permanently within the district, he further urged DBs to properly guide the administrative officers in the right direction and maintain cordial relations between the government and the people. <\/p>\n
The Advisor also urged DBs to protect the government\u2019s land which was falling in the hands of the private individuals. He also said that the DBs & GBs as a responsible forum should not remain silent spectators but to raise their voice to find permanent and peaceful solution to the Naga political issue. <\/p>\n
In his short speech, Rev. Y. Chingang Evangelist said DBs were appointed by British to assist the administration in maintaining law and order situation during the head hunting era and urged the DBs to discharge their duty with upmost sincerity for the welfare of the people. <\/p>\n
The SDO (civil) Sadar Mon, Keyirangding heguie who chaired the programme thanked the advisor DUDA on behalf of the District Administration for construction of the building. <\/p>\n
He also cited that the DBs are the important agents of the administration to maintain law and order in region and urged them to be sincere and devotion in their duties. Mr. Wangchang Head DB, DC office Mon proposed the welcome address.<\/p>\n
An official bulletin further mentioned that the building was constructed under DUDA for financial year 2010-11 and 2011-12 with an expenditure of Rs. 30 lakhs.
