\nA total of 38 participants from 16 schools participated in the essay competition on the topics \u201cImportance of fundamental duties\u201d for high school level and \u201cImportance of fundamental rights and duties\u201d for higher secondary level. At the college level, a total of 14 speakers from two colleges debated on the topic \u201cSocial networking does more harm than good\u201d with seven speakers each speaking for and against the motion. The programme was chaired by Ms. Antimayang Chang, panel lawyer of DLSA Tuensang, while Khape Koza, District and Sessions Judge, Tuensang, delivered the key note address and Chongshen Chang enthralled the audience with a special song.
\nThe judges for the essay competition were Dr. Paul, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Akiuba and Ms Senti, both Assistant Professors from the Department of English, all from Sao Chang Government College. The panel of judges for the debate comprised of Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, SDO (Civil), Tuensang, Ms WV Patton, Civil Judge (Junior Division), Tuensang, and Ms Alemla Pongso, Assistant Professor, DIET.
\nMs. Limatola K Chang, a 3rd year Arts student from Sao Chang arguing against the motion emerged as the winner of the debate competition. Shou Khiamniungan and Yamtsi P, 1st year students from Sao Chang College, were the second and third winners respectively.
\nAt the higher secondary school level on essay competition, Masonba, a Class XII student of St. John\u2019s Higher Secondary School, secured the first place, while Ms Atingla, a class XII student of St. John\u2019s Higher Secondary School, and Ms Lomithula, also a Class XII student of St. John\u2019s Higher Secondary School, were placed in the second and third place respectively.
\nThe high school level essay competition witnessed active participation from 14 schools in which Ms. Bemang M Chang, a Class IX student of Eklavya Model Residential School, won the first prize. The second prize was bagged by Ms. Abiya Mariam George, a Class IX student Of Holy Cross School, while the third prize was bagged by Ms. I Antimonyu, a Class X student of Holy Angel School.
\nLater, Khape Koza, District and Sessions Judges, Tuensang, who is also the Chairman of District Legal Services Authority, Tuensang, gave away the prizes.
