\nAccording to family sources, the deceased girl, studying in class XI in a school in Bhandari did not returned home from school on Thursday. Her body was found later near a stream between Bhandari and Merapani on Friday, family sources said. The body has been taken to Wokha for postmortem.
\nDLYF condemns: Dimapur Longsa Youth Forum (DLYF) has strongly condemned the \u201cbarbaric and heinous murder\u201d of a teenage girl of Longsa Village at Merapani on September 11.
\nIn a press release, DLYF president M. Zachamo Ezung said the victim, a resident of Merapani area, had gone to school on September 11 and was reported missing. Family, area members and police launched a search operation along the school vicinity and road leading to the school.
\nHowever, on September 12, 4 p.m., DLYF said the \u201cdeceased was found between Merapani and Bhandari (below the Bhandari Police Check Gate.) at the river\/stream site in school uniform\u201d.
\nThough the motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained, as post-mortem report was awaited, DLYF suspected that the \u201cgruesome murder as pre planned\u201d.
\nDLYF has urged that state government to \u201cimmediately set up a Special investigating Team (SIT) to probe the incident\u201d and to award befitting punishment against those involved at the earliest.
\n\u201cFailing to probe the murder case may invite unnecessary situation\u201d, for which DLYF said it would not be held responsible.
\nDLYF appealed all right thinking citizens, students\u2019 organization and public organizations to condemn the unscrupulous act and urged upon responsible organizations to extend all possible co-operation to the investigating agency till the culprit(s) are booked.
\nMeanwhile, DLYF while expressing profound grief over the untimely demise of the young girl, conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
