{"id":150150,"date":"2014-08-26T23:42:27","date_gmt":"2014-08-26T23:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2014\/08\/26\/meet-approves-2-laning-in-kiphire\/"},"modified":"2014-08-26T23:42:27","modified_gmt":"2014-08-26T23:42:27","slug":"meet-approves-2-laning-in-kiphire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2014\/08\/26\/meet-approves-2-laning-in-kiphire\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet approves 2-laning in Kiphire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Convened by district administration Kiphire and Nagaland public works department (NH), the first consultative meeting of stakeholders for two lane projects of National Highway 202 passing through Tuensang-Kiphire sector was held at Hopongkyu memorial Hall here Tuesday.<br \/>\nSpeaking at the meeting, the deputy commissioner (DC) Kiphire Neposo Theluo said the \u201cmain hindrance for development\u201d in Nagaland was the \u201clandownership.\u201d<br \/>\nDC said good road communication was the answer to civilization and therefore one should not hesitate or be reluctant to donate their land for development. <br \/>\nHe said when development comes it would be a benefit for the local people not the department or the central government.<br \/>\nHowever, Theluo challenged the gathering to contribute from all corner for the betterment of tomorrow. Kiphire division Executive Engineer (NH) Er.Hozheto Shikhu, who gave power point presentation said \u201cToday is a day of history for the generation,\u201d and appealed to the gathering to take a good decision for their children\u2019s children.<br \/>\nEE (NH) said Nagaland was non-revenue state and the state fully depended on centre but lamented that \u201cwe do not know how to welcome the blessing.\u201d<br \/>\nHe said owing to compensation problems all project cannot take up smoothly because people did not think beyond.<br \/>\nCiting the example of the long distance, he said time consuming and carrying charge etc. would change and the people of Kiphire would benefit not the department. Executive engineer also compared with other towns by showing the slides of other developed towns.<br \/>\nDelivering welcome address, NPWD superintendent engineer said road was for the benefit of the people and appealed to the gathering to give their best and accept the opportunity. <br \/>\nDuring discussion hour, GBs &amp; DBs Joint Forum Kiphire president Sepithong, Kiphire Area GBs association president Thsithrongkyu, USSC executive secretary Justing Khatomong, Area VDB president Juremong Longmatra, Sikiur village head GB Zheheto and USLP Tsilise vice president spoke on the advantage of the two lane and assured to cooperate with the department.&nbsp; <br \/>\nThe meeting, attended by stakeholders, GBs, DBs and tribal leaders, resolved to welcome two lane passing Kiphire district.
