In pursuance to Election Laws and Rules, deputy commissioner and DEO Kiphire, Kesonyu Yhome IAS has notified all political parties, candidates under 59 and 60 A\/Cs that in filing of nomination, the maximum number of vehicles that will be allowed to come within the periphery of 100 meters of Returning Officer\u2019s office has been restricted to three and maximum number of persons that will be allowed to enter the office of RO has been limited to five (including the candidate).<\/p>\n
\nDC also informed that only four persons would be allowed to be present during the scrutiny of the nomination papers of the candidates viz, the candidate, the election agent, one proposer and one other person duly authorized in writing by the candidate, but no other person, may attend at the time fixed for scrutiny.<\/p>\n
On use of vehicle by candidates, DC stated that no vehicle shall be used for election campaign by the candidate without getting permit from the district election officer\/returning officer and such vehicle shall be deemed to be unauthorized for campaigning and may attract penal provisions of the IPC and therefore be immediately out of the campaigning exercise and shall not be used for further campaign.<\/p>\n
Candidate should seek prior approval of the returning officer for plying such vehicles and must display permit issued by the RO in original (not photocopy) prominently on the windscreen of the car. The permit must bear the number of the vehicle, name of the candidate.<\/p>\n
External modification of vehicles including fitting of loudspeaker thereon would be subject to the provisions of the motor vehicles act\/rules and can be used only after obtaining the requisite permission from the competent authorities under the MV Act.<\/p>\n
Only three vehicles would be entitled to use by the candidate on poll day which shall be allowed under the permit issued by the returning officer and no other vehicle shall be allowed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
