Acharya said Saturday he wanted to make the Raj Bhavan a \u201cpeople\u2019s Bhavan\u201d. Governor also said wished to invite people to the Raj Bhavan from all walks of life including rickshaw pullers, cobblers, Bus and taxi drivers, etc. on the occasion like \u201cAt Home programme\u201d at Raj Bhavan, and make them feel that it was their Bhavan.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Asserting he would be happy to know issues that were not attended to, the state governor urged the press and the general public to bring such issues to his notice so he could try his best to see that those issues were addressed.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\u201cPlease come any time and share with me the issues if they are not addressed to,\u201d governor told the Kohima Press Club (KPC) members, who had called on him at Raj Bhavan Saturday.<\/div>\n<div>Stressing on the importance of learning the regional languages by the mainlanders, the governor said he had already discussed with the parliamentary secretaries of school education and higher and technical education how they could detail language teachers to various major universities of India so that mainlanders would avail opportunities to learn them.<\/div>\n<div>Governor also said teachers from Science and Maths streams from other major Universities of India should also be detailed to teach people in the region. \u201cThis way we can develop people to people coordination, besides integrating of emotions between the people of the region and the mainlanders,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div>Governor said he has also suggested setting up of \u201cfellowship link institutions\u201d with various institutions in India during meeting with Human resources development ministry. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Earlier, KPC president Xavier Rutsa, on behalf of the KPC, expressed hope that the Raj Bhavan and the members of the KPC would have a very cordial atmosphere while discharging their respective duties in the state under his Governorship. A memorandum on how the Raj Bhavan would streamline on the media in the state was submitted.<\/div>\n<div>Governor assured he would do his best to maintain cordial relations with the press persons in the state and asked them to share their problems with him any time.<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ASU meets governor<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Angami Students Union (ASU) delegation called on Nagaland governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya, at Raj Bhavan Kohima Saturday.<\/div>\n<div>ASU during the meeting expressed concern on various issues such as \u201cillegal immigrants, discrimination of northeasterners, AFSPA 1958 and non-detention policy under RTE\u201d.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Responding to the matters raised by the delegation, Acharya said the door was always open for students and student leaders and advised the union to sincerely voice out their concern on issues confronting the Naga society.<\/div>\n<div>ASU stated that Acharya also shared his concern about women reservation in the state. Governor also expressed his concern over the absenteeism of teachers in government schools and illegal immigrant issue.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>On the importance to learn indigenous languages all over India, ASU said the governor and his wife showed keen interest to learn Tenyidie. Acharya stressed the need to respect and create awareness of indigenous languages. &nbsp;ASU delegation was led by its president, executive members and host of senior leaders.<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sastra University calls on Gov, CM<\/span><\/div>\n<div>A delegation led by Sastra University dean Dr. Vaidhya Subramanian called on Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya and chief minister T.R. Zeliang in Kohima Saturday.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Dr. Vaidhya, a Ph.D in Management from Harvard, offered his services to the state in the higher education sector. He also expressed his desire to assist and collaborate with the state in initiatives, which would lead to employment generation and self-reliance of the people.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Dr. Vaidhya also visited National Institute of Technology, Dimapur and SETAM, Nagaland University campuses and interacted with the faculty and students.<\/div>\n<div>The visit was an initiative of Society of Education, Empowerment &amp; Development (SEED) to bring investments and help the state to collaborate with private players.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland governor P.B.
