{"id":15281,"date":"2018-07-11T23:16:35","date_gmt":"2018-07-11T23:16:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/07\/11\/ymc-observes-5th-foundation-cum-freshers-day\/"},"modified":"2018-07-11T23:16:35","modified_gmt":"2018-07-11T23:16:35","slug":"ymc-observes-5th-foundation-cum-freshers-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/07\/11\/ymc-observes-5th-foundation-cum-freshers-day\/","title":{"rendered":"YMC observes 5th foundation-cum-fresher\u2019s day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/TFXOGOWDKYRKXVSNIHND.jpg><\/p>\n<div>Yemhi Memorial College (YMC) Dimapur observed its 5th foundation-cum-fresher\u2019s day 2018, on Wednesday here at the college premises, Nepaligaon, with director, Higher Education, Nagaland, Kuholi Chishi as the chief guest.<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Speaking at the programme, Chishi lauded the entire YMC family for their growth and progress despite of being a young institution. She encouraged the students by making three special mentions such as, to discover themselves, to pay attention to small things, and to make a little extra effort. She opined that, gone were the days, when college students were old and matured, but maintained that most students entering colleges today were in their teens.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Chishi urged the young students to learn to discover themselves by making the right choice in life, optimizing their potentials and talents that God has given to them. She said that it would be painful, if they failed to make use of their potentials. Living in a day where quality has become the essence of the day, she exhorted them not to be pretentious but to do good things, being who they are and urged them to work and learn qualitatively so as to be satisfied at the end of the day.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">She reminded them that quality does not necessarily mean doing \u201cbig things\u201d but it is paying attention to small things. \u201cWe fail to do things qualitatively because we failed to look into smaller details of life\u201d, she added. She explained the writings on the wall she came across, which read, the difference between the two words \u201cordinary\u201d and \u201cextraordinary\u201d which was differentiated with a small word between them called \u201cextra\u201d, to make a difference. She encouraged them to make a little extra effort to make a difference and to achieve something in a big way. Making a small mention of little thing like \u201cetiquette\u201d and \u201cstewardship\u201d, she called upon the students to start paying attention to little things.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The chief guest encouraged the students to struggle by themselves and to not expect people to help them. She further urged them to be the achiever and make relentless efforts to come out of difficulties.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Principal YMC, Makhan Chetia while presenting the 5th foundation day message informed that YMC was established in July 13, 2013 in memory of late Rev, Yemhi by his grand children and great grandchildren. Late Rev. Yemhi was born in the year 1875, died on October 3, 1932, the first among Sumis to be ordained and one of the pioneer of Christian missionaries, who also worked in closed association with three prominent foreign missionaries.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">In the second session, Mister Fresher of YMC Dimapur 2018 was bagged by Niloka K.
