It\u2019s a dark secret she has kept hidden from even her own children for 35 years.\nBut Sharon Osbourne has opened up about the night she drunkenly slashed her wrist with a dirty steak knife from a room service tray to prove her undying love for her then boyfriend Ozzy. The former X Factor judge laid it all bare on US show The Talk as \u201ca lesson to be learned\u201d for any youngsters thinking about engaging in self harm.
\nSharon, 61, described the drunken night her then boyfriend Ozzy Osbourne questioned the depths of her feelings towards him. The redhead told the Loose Women-style panel: \u201cI\u2019ve never discussed it out of embarrassment of how stupid I was at the time to have done such a thing to myself. I want to share this with everyone because it\u2019s a lesson learned.\u201d
\nSharon described how, aged 27, she enjoyed a drinking session with Ozzy in a hotel whilst on tour. At around 4am, their conversation deepened as Ozzy asked Sharon just how much she loved him.
\nAs Sharon drunkenly declared \u201cI\u2019d do anything for you, I\u2019d give my life for you\u201d she went one stage further by reaching for a dirty steak knife on a nearby room service trolley and cutting into her wrist three times. But the slices cut too deeply, resulting in an ambulance being called and Sharon being whisked away to a psychiatric ward under suspicion of attempting suicide.
\nAfter being placed on lockdown for three days while she was medically assessed, Sharon was eventually released by doctors. But she has kept the incident under wraps out of sheer humiliation. She said: \u201cIf anybody out there who likes to cut or harm themselves or try and prove to someone, firstly let me tell you these scars are a big embarrassment.
\n\u201cI tell everyone I was attacked by a dog. I was, I was attacked by a Doberman, but it was the other arm.
\n\u201cThe scars don\u2019t go away, it stays with you. It\u2019s like grow up, just grow up, look at this. It\u2019s sad and pathetic on a 61-year-old. It\u2019s a reminder to us all.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
