{"id":15284,"date":"2018-07-11T23:17:54","date_gmt":"2018-07-11T23:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/07\/11\/interstate-exposure-tour-of-sameti-ietc-officials-to-meghalaya\/"},"modified":"2018-07-11T23:17:54","modified_gmt":"2018-07-11T23:17:54","slug":"interstate-exposure-tour-of-sameti-ietc-officials-to-meghalaya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/07\/11\/interstate-exposure-tour-of-sameti-ietc-officials-to-meghalaya\/","title":{"rendered":"Interstate exposure tour of SAMETI &#038; IETC officials to Meghalaya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland organized and sponsored an interstate exposure tour for officials of SAMETI and IETC to Meghalaya from July 3 to 7.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The tour included visits to important offices such as Central Potato Research Station (CPRS), KVK (East Khasi Hills), Meghalaya Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (MAMETI), Integrated Agriculture Training Centre (IATC), State Biological Control Laboratory (SBCL), 1917 Integrated Technology Enabled Agri Management System (1917-iTEAMS), floriculture nursery, fruit garden and fruit and vegetable processing unit.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">During the visit, the team interacted with the heads and staff of all the offices wherein, they were taken around the official establishments and introduced to the activities undertaken in the different departments.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The team made field visits to a floriculture nursery run by a progressive farmer and fruit garden under the department of Horticulture. One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to 1917- iTEAMS which is an initiative of the department of agriculture, Meghalaya to enable and facilitate access to remunerative and sustainable markets for farmers\u2019 produce through the implementation and operation of a logistics and extension facilitation service.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Meghalaya is the first state in the country to start such an initiative for fanners.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The team also visited Mawlynnong village in East Khasi Hills district, popularly known as the cleanest village in Asia and Dawki in West Jaintia Hills distict which is famous for the Umngot river that separates India and Bangladesh.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The tour was led by Tiajungla Longchar and Sentinaro Longchar, Deputy Project Directors SAMETI.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland organized and sponsored an interstate exposure tour for officials of SAMETI and IETC to Meghalaya from July 3 to 7.
