Amy Winehouse\u2019s mother has bravely spoken about the last time she saw her daughter before she tragically passed away.<\/div>\n
Reliving her painful memories, Janis revealed that she had gone to the singer\u2019s house in Camden to pay her a visit.<\/div>\n
But almost as soon as she arrived, she wanted to walk right back out again as the star \u2018reeked of alcohol\u2019. \u2018I couldn\u2019t sit there and watch her like that,\u2019 she tearfully admitted, being in complete shock at what she was seeing. As Janis made her way inside the property, she saw \u2018broken bottles of white wine\u2019 everywhere.<\/div>\n
But that was nothing compared to the state she was about to see her 27-year-old daughter in.<\/div>\n
She had been greeted at the door by Amy\u2019s bodyguard Andrew Morris, who asked her to wait downstairs whilst he fetched the star from her bedroom.<\/div>\n
According to Janis, her daughter was so drunk that Andrew had to physically carry her daughter down the stairs. <\/div>\n
She revealed: \u2018As Andrew turned the corner, I saw Amy was slung over his shoulder in a fireman\u2019s lift.<\/div>\n
\u2018It was obvious he\u2019d washed her and dressed her and tried to put her beehive on to make her look respectable.\u2019<\/div>\n
Describing the horrific scene in her new book Loving Amy, Janis added that her little girl \u2018reeked of alcohol\u2019 and that the stench was \u2018coming out of every pore\u2019.<\/div>\n
The troubled singer, who had publicly been battling drink and drug addictions for years, could barely make sense when she spoke.<\/div>\n
At the time, Janis remembers that her daughter was clutching a collection of family photographs. But as she slurred her words, the intoxicated singer dropped them all on the floor. <\/div>\n
The following day on July 23 2011, the star was found dead at her home.<\/div>\n
An inquest found the singer died from alcohol poisoning after a drinking binge. She was more than five times the legal drink-drive limit at the time. <\/div>\n
Ever since, her mother has been tirelessly devoting her time generously to fundraising for The Amy Winehouse Foundation, which she set up in her daughter\u2019s name.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
