{"id":15319,"date":"2018-07-14T00:15:57","date_gmt":"2018-07-14T00:15:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/07\/14\/khonoma-organizations-against-bail-for-rape-accused\/"},"modified":"2025-04-10T11:26:18","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T05:56:18","slug":"khonoma-organizations-against-bail-for-rape-accused","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/07\/14\/khonoma-organizations-against-bail-for-rape-accused\/","title":{"rendered":"Khonoma organizations against bail for rape accused"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Khonoma Village Council (KVC), Khonoma Women Organisation (KWO) and Khonoma Youth Organisation (KYO) have registered their strongest objection to granting bail to Sabir Ahmed who is accused of raping and murdering Pezano Mor.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">In a letter to the District and Sessions Judge Kohima, the three organizations said that late Pezano Mor, 51 years, a mother of seven children was raped and murdered \u201cin the most gruesome and cruel manner by the accused Sabir Ahmed and Munir Uddin\u201d on the night of March 26, 2018 at Khonoma village.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">After smashing the victim\u2019s head with a club, the two allegedly dumped the body into a water tank and fled the village on the same night.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">According to the organizations, it was learnt that the two accused were from Karimganj District of Assam bordering Bangladesh. The accused Sabir Ahmed was arrested from Aizawl, Mizoram and brought back to Kohima and is presently under judicial custody while Munir Uddin is still absconding, it said.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">On learning that the accused in custody may apply for bail, the three organizations said that there was every possibility that he may jump bail and become untraceable. The organizations appealed to the District and Sessions Judge that befitting punishment be awarded to the accused and also appealed to all residents of Kohima not to raise bail for the accused. \u201cIf any person acts as a bailer, then we shall hold him responsible for the murder\u201d it warned.
