Dimapur\u2019s very own \u2018Clueless Attention\u2019 with their powerful performance not only won \u201cNSACS Rock+ – A red ribbon superstar campaign contest\u201d but also made a direct entry to this year\u2019s Hornbill National Rock Contest 2012 after they captivated the hearts of the judges and hundreds of rock aficionados who thronged DDSC stadium Saturday to see their favourite band performing and also get a glimpse of what the singing icon of the northeast, Mami Varte had in store for them.<\/p>\n
Speaking before the declaration of the results, T.R Zeliang, minister, planning and coordination, who was the chief guest said he himself initially did not understand what actually \u201crock music\u201d was all about but seeing the talent of all the eleven bands representing their respective district, disclosed he was yet to learn more about rock music.<\/p>\n
Zeliang was also of the view that the contest was not only about \u201csinging or rocking\u201d but learning how to prevent HIV & AIDS, taking care of the affected people around, at the same time, said those living with HIV & AIDS has done a unique approach by coming out of the closet and talking freely about HIV & AIDS.<\/p>\n
Applauding, Kokliba, the brand ambassador of NSACS Rock+ – A red ribbon superstar campaign, for creating awareness on HIV & AIDS in all the districts of the state, Zeliang also suggested that the winning band should carry the mission successfully to reduce HIV & AIDS in the state.<\/p>\n
Judges for the evening were Andrew (Scarlet Idol), Thejove Chakhesang, Yanger (Dia Tribe) and Moanungsang, winner of first Naga Idol.
\nThe winners walked away with a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, followed by Rs.60, 000 and Rs.40, 000 respectively which was won by DICE (Mokokchung) and X-File from Tuensang as first and second runners-up respectively.<\/p>\n
Other individual winners included – best drummer – X-Files (Tuensang), best bassist – K3M (Wokha), best guitarist- X-Files (Tuensang) and best vocalist- Clueless Attention (Dimapur). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
