In Tuensang town, 23 AR along with two Nagaland policemen nabbed ten GPRN\/NSCN and four NSCN (K) cadres along with huge cache of arms, ammunition, explosives and incriminating documents on August 26. <\/p>\n
PRO IGAR (N), in a communiqu\u00e9, informed that the seizures included eleven weapons, 337 rounds of ammunition, fake currency notes of Rs.1.66 lakh and large quantity of other warlike stores– radio sets and tax collection receipts etc. <\/p>\n
PRO said the GPRN\/NSCN cadres under one \u2018maj.\u2019 Omnang Chang, Tuensang district commander and NSCN (K) cadres under chairman Chang Region, Imlongnukshi Chang were involved in extortion, illegal tax collection and recruitment of youth in the district. <\/p>\n
PRO revealed that the cadres planned to cause disturbances during the Noksen A\/C bye-election but the proactive operation by the AR thwarted a possible factional clash. <\/p>\n
PRO further the Rs.1.66 lak fake notes was a serious matter that had to be probed. It said all the NSCN cadres were later handed over to Tuensang Police. <\/p>\n
NSCN (I-M) cadre: One NSCN (I-M), identified as David Lea of Phek was nabbed by 29 AR on August 25. One 7.65mm pistol, magazine and live ammunitions were also seized. <\/p>\n
PRO said David confessed he was the Dimapur town area supervisor, UT-1 region. The cadre along with seized items were handed over to the East P.S. Dimapur.<\/p>\n
NNC\/FGN cadre: One NNC\/FGN cadre identified as Nogen Mech was nabbed along with three 7.65 mm pistols, one 9 mm pistol, six 7.65 magazines, two 9mm magazines, live rounds and one damaged hand grenade. <\/p>\n
PRO said the cadre was nabbed on August 24 by the 29 AR. The cadres along with seized items were handed over to the East Police Station, Dimapur.<\/p>\n
GPRN\/NSCN cadres: 21 AR nabbed two GPRN\/NSCN cadres from Old Natha village, Zunheboto district. <\/p>\n
