\nAddressing the gathering at the inaugural function, the chief guest said that foundation of education during Primary and elementary education is very important and with the objective to achieve quality education at all level, the department (SCERT) will soon start professional training for the teachers.
\nAccording to a DIPR report, the chief guest informed that, Wokha DIET centre is the 7th Institute in the State and 8th DIET would be inaugurated June 25 at Zunheboto, in a short time DIET centre in the three new districts will also be established, added the Parliamentary Secretary. Nuhku also requested the principal and staff of DIET, Wokha to bear with the inconvenience as the department will shortly be taking up infrastructure development like, quarters for Teachers and non teaching staff, hostels, science lab and library and other facilities and expressed hoped that the Lotha community and other departments in the district will give fullest support as the department takes up development activities in the district.
\nSCERT director Vipralhou Kesiezie, while giving the key note address, said that restructuring the education system, the government has brought out policies to upgrade the Institution (DIET) to a higher level to ensure quality education and to achieve that teachers should be professionally trained. Beside that he also added that there should be no untrained teachers and violation of the order will come to a State where government will stop funding. He also informed that very soon Wokha District will be having a BITE centre (Block Level Institute of Teacher Education) proposed to be established at Bhandari. Deputy commissioner (DC) Wokha Vyasan R also delivered a short speech during the function.
