He said a meeting would be held this week and only after that a clear decision would be taken on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Kohima Science College Teachers Association (KSCTA) has accepted the government\u2019s offer stating that it did so while considering the welfare of the higher education and the society.<\/p>\n<p>KSCTA president Dr. Limatemjen told Nagaland Post that the KSCTA held a meeting Tuesday and unanimously decided to agree with the terms and conditions and the offer given by the state government.<\/p>\n<p>Against the backdrop of the pen-down strike called by ANGCTA, the former president, vice president, general secretary and treasurer had tendered their resignations on Sunday owing to differences in the decision making of the association. <\/p>\n<p>KSCTA had decided to withdraw its participation from the pen-down strike. All those who resigned from ANGCTA office bearers were from Kohima Science College Jotsoma. <\/p>\n<p>The phase- II agitation (two-day pen down strike) called by the striking ANGCTA was successfully observed in all 13 colleges.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">ZGCTA observes pen-down strike<\/span><br \/>\nDIMAPUR, AUG 27 (NPN): Zunheboto Government&nbsp; College Teachers Association (ZGCTA) has successfully observed the ANGCTA phase II agitation by calling a two-day pen-down strike on Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release issued by ZGCTA president Rosy Kinny and secretary M. Pushparaj, ZGCTA members expressed regret on the decision of the Kohima Science College Teachers Association (KSCTA) to withdraw support from the agitation for a common cause and also the resignation of ANGCTA officials .<\/p>\n<p>ZGCTA said the association unanimously decided to reject the offer made by the government as published in the media on August 27. It has also resolved to stand firm by the decision of the ANGCTA action committee in all further courses of action.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #0000ff;\">Have concern for students: NSF tells ANGCTA<\/span><br \/>\nNaga Students\u2019 Federation (NSF) while acknowledging the genuine grievances of the All Nagaland Government College Teachers\u2019 Association (ANGCTA), has urged the teachers to be cautious and have concern for the student community pursuing their studies in different educational institutions.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, NSF vice president Joseph Ngouri and education secretary Bangdi Chawang expressed dismay at the disruption of normal classes due to the phase wise agitation called up by ANGCTA.<\/p>\n<p>NSF stated that the teachers\u2019 resentment for not fulfilling their demands as assured by the state was genuine but asked why they should take actions at the expense of students\u2019 academic career and future.<\/p>\n<p>NSF also was dismayed with the postponement of the Kohima College mid-term examination which has already been scheduled due to due to the ongoing ANGCTA pen-down strike. <\/p>\n<p>The federation also expressed shock to learn that mid-term examination in Phek Government College was conducted by the grade IV staff members and the contract lecturers due to the absence of the teachers.<\/p>\n<p>NSF said such actions could not be tolerates and termed that same as \u201cshameful act\u201d adding that it illustrates total negligence and insincerity on the part of the teaching community. <\/p>\n<p>NSF has urged the state government to look into the grievances of ANGCTA with a rational approach based on the assurance given while at the same time ANGCTA should also adopt alternative mode of showing their resentment so that thousands of students were not put in a difficult position.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All Nagaland Government College Teachers\u2019 Association (ANGCTA) has expressed dismay over the response of the state government to its demands and has decided that it will take the final decision on whether to accept or reject the offer, within the current week.
