{"id":156180,"date":"2014-06-21T00:50:47","date_gmt":"2014-06-21T00:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2014\/06\/21\/cntc-tells-govt-to-fulfill-assurance-on-foothill-road\/"},"modified":"2014-06-21T00:50:47","modified_gmt":"2014-06-21T00:50:47","slug":"cntc-tells-govt-to-fulfill-assurance-on-foothill-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2014\/06\/21\/cntc-tells-govt-to-fulfill-assurance-on-foothill-road\/","title":{"rendered":"CNTC tells govt. to fulfill assurance on foothill road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Central Nagaland Tribal Council (CNTC) has resolved to raise its voice over the \u201cconfusion\u201d and \u201cdistortion\u201d created in the construction of the much awaited foothill road.<br \/>\nIn a press release, CNTC president NtsemoNgullie and general secretary Imtinochet said that a decision to this effect was taken during the council\u2019s executive meeting held on Friday.<br \/>\nCNTC has also questioned the PWD (R&amp;B) and the government on their \u201cassurance and commitment\u201d made to NFHRCC during last year\u2019s meeting in the presence of the former Chief Minister Nephieu Rio and officials.<br \/>\nDuring that meeting, the construction of the first phase &#8211; Passage through (jeepable road) from Dimapur to Tizit was to be initiated by NFHRCC and as such the committee has undertaken efforts in negotiating with the general public in the affected areas and the national workers for exemption of any land compensation and taxation. <br \/>\nCNTC said since the foothill road construction project came up under extra ordinary circumstances, the government should not deviate from the assurance made. <br \/>\nThe council further appealed to the department and the government to uphold the integrity of the assurance and honour the demand of the 10 tribes to revoke the work order issued through open tender and allot the same to NHFRCC recommended contractors so as to avoid confrontation and hurdles in the progress of the ongoing construction. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Central Nagaland Tribal Council (CNTC) has resolved to raise its voice over the \u201cconfusion\u201d and \u201cdistortion\u201d created in the construction of the much awaited foothill road.
