Gen. MMS Rai, AVSM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command made a two-day visit (May 20 and 21) to Kohima and reviewed the security situation in Nagaland.<br \/>\nAccording to a defence press release, during the course of his visit, the Gen. Rai called on Nagaland Governor Dr. Ashwani Kumar and discussed the steps being taken to further consolidate security situation in the state.<br \/>\nHe held a wide ranging discussion with the Governor so as to include development projects being undertaken by the security forces in the state. Governor had also conveyed his appreciation to the GOC-in-C and GOC 3 Corps for the outstanding performance and contribution of Assam Rifles towards maintaining peace and tranquility in Nagaland.&nbsp; <br \/>\nPrior to his departure, Gen. Rai complimented all ranks of HQ IGAR (N) for their dedication and devotion to duty.
