{"id":156838,"date":"2014-05-10T01:00:47","date_gmt":"2014-05-10T01:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2014\/05\/10\/rio-deeply-concerned-saddened-appeals-for-unity\/"},"modified":"2014-05-10T01:00:47","modified_gmt":"2014-05-10T01:00:47","slug":"rio-deeply-concerned-saddened-appeals-for-unity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2014\/05\/10\/rio-deeply-concerned-saddened-appeals-for-unity\/","title":{"rendered":"Rio \u2018deeply concerned &#038; saddened\u2019, appeals for unity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>State chief minister Neiphiu Rio, who is also the NPF-led DAN consensus candidate for the state\u2019s lone Lok Sabha seat, Friday said that he was \u201cdeeply concerned and saddened by the current scenario in the party and the State Government.\u201d<br \/>\nSet against the backdrop of intense lobbying between contenders for the post of Nagaland chief minister, in the event of his election to the 16th Lok Sabha, Rio in a statement, asserted that NPF-led DAN government should be able to provide a stable government under the spirit of unity, understanding and oneness. <br \/>\nNeiphiu Rio said such an approach was the only way to provide development, progress and economic growth as DAN strived towards peace. <br \/>\nHe said that at such a crucial juncture it was of paramount interest that NPF remain united for the sake of people who have given it their mandate.<br \/>\nRio appealed to the rank and file of the NPF including its elected members, to unite for consensus solution so as to pave way for smooth transition of power and added, that it was the only way forward to ensure stability of the DAN government, unity of NPF and implementation of effective governance.<br \/>\nAppealing to all to come together and bury the hatchet and unify the party in the greater interest of the people, Rio said only unity among NPF will strengthen the common cause for the peace process and bring permanent peace and political solution to the people.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">NPF reacts to media reports<\/span><br \/>\nNaga People\u2019s Front (NPF) through its press and media bureau has termed the reports of division within the party over the party\u2019s choice of chief minister as published in some local dailies as the handiwork of \u201csome mischievous elements\u201d who had planted misleading reports about some imaginary power struggle.<br \/>\nIn a statement, NPF said the aim of these mischievous elements was to create confusion in the minds of legislators so that the Congress was facilitated to fish in troubled waters.<br \/>\nNPF clarified that the party president and the chief minister along with others have taken a decision long back to evolve a consensus in identifying the leader to take over from Rio.
