{"id":157211,"date":"2014-05-07T01:14:43","date_gmt":"2014-05-07T01:14:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2014\/05\/07\/npcc-reiterates-demand-for-re-poll\/"},"modified":"2014-05-07T01:14:43","modified_gmt":"2014-05-07T01:14:43","slug":"npcc-reiterates-demand-for-re-poll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2014\/05\/07\/npcc-reiterates-demand-for-re-poll\/","title":{"rendered":"NPCC reiterates demand for re-poll"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has reiterated its demand for re-polling in the state and declaring the \u201cnull and void\u201d in all polling stations recording 90% or over on account of massive poll malpractices on April 9 election in the state.<br \/>\nIn a statement, NPCC general secretary (admin) Medokul Sophie lauded the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the \u201cprompt action\u201d in initiating to undertake scrutiny for all polling stations that exceeded 95% and above of the total voters in all polling stations.<br \/>\nNPCC general secretary however expressed \u201cdeep regrets\u201d that there was no independent observer from ECI for supervision of scrutiny or web casting shown and taken into account on May 3 and 4 at Kohima in the office of Returning Officer.<br \/>\nIn spite of numerous discrepancies found during the scrutiny, there was no guarantee that the same officials under whose supervision massive malpractices of voting was allowed on the polling day could ever dispense fair justice and as such the scrutiny could be devoid of merit, said NPCC.<br \/>\nIn the light of the above circumstances, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee reiterated its demands for total re-poll in all polling stations that exceeded 90% and above be notified at the earliest possible time. <br \/>\nThe Congress has also asked the Election Commission of India to depute impartial independent election observers to all re-polling booths and also by installing CCTVs in all re-polling stations or declaring null and void to all polling stations that exceeded 90% and above polling due to massive malpractices on April 9 last.<br \/>\nNPCC demanded that web cast recording be made public and telecast the proceeding of polling to ascertain the veracity of contention and take to task all delinquent official on duty.<br \/>\nNPCC further said measures befitting the directions of the Election Commission of India should be enforced forthwith to redeem the essence and ethos of the voting rights and values for establishing a vibrant democratic nation. <br \/>\nNPCC further said that the entire electioneering campaign atmosphere vitiated by Narendra Modi and BJP in spreading of communal venoms was blatantly responsible for creating unrest and instability in the volatile states of Northeast India and has appealed law enforcing agencies to bring to book all culprits involved the Assam violence to secure confidence to all law abiding citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has reiterated its demand for re-polling in the state and declaring the \u201cnull and void\u201d in all polling stations recording 90% or over on account of massive poll malpractices on April 9 election in the state.
