Two-day sensitization workshop on e-governance for the middle level officers in Kohima was organized by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Kohima as a collaborative undertaking comprising of the department of information technology and communications, and department of electronics &IT, ministry of communications &IT, government of India May 5.\nAccording to a press release, the ongoing series of related sensitization workshops for all districts, the first phase set to run from the April 29 till May 9, has already covered Mokokchung district and Wokha district from April 29 to May 2 with the delivery of intended results.
\nThe current workshop being held at the DC Conference Hall, Kohima, attended by officials, was graced by the deputy commissioner (DC) Kohima W. Honje Konyak. DC offered inputs of encouragement, support and feasible suggestions, to be integrated into all undertakings linked to e-governance.
\nThe resource persons of the programme included Rita Arora, director of NIELIT, Delhi, Partha P Adhikari, deputy director (e-Gov), NIELIT, Delhi and Er. Chura Katiry, program officer, department of IT & C, government of Nagaland.
\nNIELIT Kohima director i\/c Er L Lanuwabang delivered the keynote address during the introductory session. He highlighted the objective of encompassing the training of 2280 ST youths in the certificate course of IT & e-gov applications besides training middle level state officers and NGOS and sensitizing all senior state level officials on the cardinal aspects of e-governance and tactics for efficiently running such a system (within the project duration of 2 years). The positive outcome of the previous workshops in Mokokchung and Wokha was also re-emphasized.
