\nAccording a press release by ACAUT Nagaland, Phek unit media cell, the situation of in the town almost went out of control as a large crowd numbering 2000 people gathered at the clock tower as news of three of the four – Muluvolu Ezung, Poshehu Rhakho, Vekuvo Mebou – involved in May 29 incident surrendered to the police. Another accused – Thomas Konyak was still absconding. It was reported that the crowd wanted to instant action but the timely action of the administration and security forces in bringing the criminals to their custody prevented from them from untoward incidents.
\nAs per the reports from the police sources, the three accused had surrendered to the police while one was still absconding till the time of filing this report.
\nMeanwhile, the public of Phek Town had resolved that henceforth the people would impose non-cooperation to the group involved in the incident and said that any Naga Political Group (NPG) enrolling the accused would be inviting the same yardstick. It may also be stated that the NNC (N\/A) had responded to the \u2018disownment statement\u2019 within 24 hours through its kilo affairs department as published on June 5.
