Fight between two groups of NSCN since Thursday morning has forced residents of Ojakho village in Arunachal Pradesh\u2019s Longding District to flee to safety.<\/p>\n
Ojakho village is 15 km away from Chasa village in Tirap district, and villagers have been caught in the cross firing between NSCN cadres.<\/p>\n
Seventeen houses of the village, which has a 600 strong population, were completely gutted, and two others destroyed, mocking the claim of Arunachal Police that paramilitary forces have intensified patrolling in the Borduria and Chasa areas following reports of inter-factional clashes between the NSCN (I-M) and the NSCN (K) there, reports ANI.<\/p>\n
When the attention of chief minister Nabam Tuki was drawn to the situation, he directed the police and other forces to act without any delay.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is the responsibility of the government to ensure the security and safety of the life and property of the people and the GoAP would do what is needed,\u201d Tuki said on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n
About 60 NSCN (K) cadres camping in nearby Longmai village and about 50 NSCN (IM) cadres camping in Chatong village began the gun fighting around 4 a.m. that continued till 11 a.m.. Fear gripped the villagers who had to run for life taking cover. An NSCN (IM) cadre was reportedly killed and another injured, unconfirmed sources claimed.<\/p>\n
