State commissioner & secretary food and civil supplies (F&CS) K T Sukhalu inaugurated e2e-Room and launched the website of the department here Monday.\nSpeaking at the inaugural and launching programme as chief guest, KT Sukhalu stated that initiatives of the department have been uploaded in public domain and exuded confident that citizens would benefit from the information.
\nThe chief guest also invited valuable suggestions of the citizens to improve the delivery and distribution system in the state.
\nSukhalu called upon the department to ensure timely availability of essential commodities to the public with special attention to the vulnerable section of the community.
\nHe urged the staffs to be more dedicated and sincere towards the department and to \u201ccarry the torch to brighten the department\u201d. F&CS director Sedevikho Khro also delivered a short speech. Earlier, demonstration of website was carried out by IT nodal officer & consultant (PMU).
\nMeanwhile, the farewell programme of KT Sukhalu was chaired by Apokla Jamir, additional director Alila Wai invoked God\u2019s blessing, short speech by additional secretary Lungalang, ADS Anungba Sanglir gave a brief bio-data of K T Sukhalu. ADS DR Kepenlo Thong on behalf of field staff association delivered a short speech and benediction by Temsu Longchar.
\nDepartment website seeks to provide food security to the people by making foodgrains available to them through the various schemes of PDS as per policy of the central government. To ensure timely release, receipt of foodgrains from central pool for distribution to beneficiaries in the state. To monitor the proper distribution of PDS foodgrains and identification of beneficiaries through district administrative authority as per the number earmarked by the government of India and Issue of distinctive ration cards under each scheme of PDS. It also intends to provide maximum and extensive coverage in the distribution of food grains and essential commodities cutting across all sections with the objective of poverty eradication.
