MLA and advisor NKVIB and MTF Dr. Nicky Kire said teachers are role models for their students while speaking as the chief guest at the parent\u2019s day celebration of Mount Hermon school Kenouzou, Kohima on Wednesday.
\nStating that parents and teachers share equal responsibilities in guiding the children, Kire suggested forming of an association for better co-relationship and betterment of students. <\/p>\n
He advised parents to spend quality time with their children at home and also check their performances in school.
\nImpressed with the excellent performances by students in the programme, Kire further advised teachers to be more interactive with their students, saying it would help the former to explore their student\u2019s hidden talent and the latter to identify their talent, gift and use it according to their capacity.<\/p>\n
R. Sorei school administrator in his brief address expressed gratitude to the parents for their \u201cunceasing moral and prayer support\u201d for the school.
\nHe reminded the parents and students that the school has been living up to its motto \u201cThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of the knowledge\u201d since its inception.
\nEarlier, Vaoshok pastor Tangkhul Baptist Church Kohima, said the invocation prayer, welcome note by Viketounuo Metha, pearls of wisdom by Kevemedo Rutsa, a senior citizen from Kohima village. <\/p>\n
Keduo-o Zumu chairman Kenouzou welfare board also addressed the gathering.
\nThe highlights of the programme included \u201cbrown girl\u201d dance by lower class, music skit \u201cfrom China\u201d by middle class, drama \u201cmy strong savior\u201d by senior students, colorful dance \u201cwe are human beings first\u201d junior students, Bollywood dance \u201c Bitaaa huwa kaal\u201d by lower class students, Manipuri dance \u201cKhamba thoibi dance\u201d by class 2 students etc. <\/p>\n
Moses headmaster said the closing prayer.
