Speaking on the programme, Nagaland Voluntary Consumers\u2019 Organisation (NVCO) president and advocate Kezhokhoto Savi deliberated on the present society wherein the consumer depends on access to reliable, affordable and safe communication networks and the danger of \u201cdigital future\u201d.<br \/>\nHe also briefed the gathering on the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (\u201cCOPRA\u201d) was enacted with the purpose of empowering consumers to take on the might of large corporations and preventing unscrupulous businessmen from taking undue advantage of the weak position which consumers are inherently placed&nbsp; in under the archaic Indian judicial system. <br \/>\nAsserting that awareness was \u201clacking\u201d in the state, Savi said that observing the day was an opportunity to create better awareness.
