{"id":162905,"date":"2013-09-08T00:54:14","date_gmt":"2013-09-08T00:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/09\/08\/expansion-of-health-care-facility-under-nsacs\/"},"modified":"2013-09-08T00:54:14","modified_gmt":"2013-09-08T00:54:14","slug":"expansion-of-health-care-facility-under-nsacs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/09\/08\/expansion-of-health-care-facility-under-nsacs\/","title":{"rendered":"Expansion of health care facility under NSACS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/LASKSKIXFVSHXMSXBJON.jpg>With the objective to expand health services in the State, Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) launched a new clinic called \u201cDesignated Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)\/Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI) Clinic (DSRC).<\/p>\n<p>The clinic, which is also called \u201cSuraksha Clinic,\u201d was launched at the Police Referral Hospital, Chumukedima on September 4.<\/p>\n<p>The programme was led by Dr. N. Adaho, chief medical officer, Police Referral Hospital, Chumukedima. Dr. Vikato Kinimi, joint director (STI), NSACS gave a power point presentation on the role and functions of Designated STI\/RTI Clinic. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. N.L. Changkija, project director, in her speech, explained the meaning of \u201cSuraksha Clinic\u201d which means \u201cto keep our health in good condition.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>She emphasized on timely treatment of STI, which that not only helped treatment but also helped in controlling HIV &amp; AIDS infection. <\/p>\n<p>Bendang Lemtor, DIG (Range\/Training &amp; Boarder), Police Headquarter, Chumukedima acknowledged the continuous service provided by NSACS to the police department.<\/p>\n<p>Officials from PHQ, NSASC, Police Headquarter &#8211; Chumukedima, District AIDS Prevention &amp; Control Unit (DAPCU) Dimapur, Rural Area Foundation NGO (TI) Chumukedima and Officers and Staff of Police Referral Hospital attended the function.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;\">NSACS to bring down infection rate to zero<\/span><br \/>\nNSACS would be making attempts to bring down new infection rate to Zero by 2015. This was stated by Dimapur district ICTC supervisor Susan Lotha during a quarterly meeting of Dimapur District Health Society (DHS), district aids prevention &amp; control committee and HIV-TB co-ordination at the DC conference Hall September 6.<\/p>\n<p>While presenting DAPCU vision and challenges, Susan said to achieve the set target, the general public should be educated on HIV &amp; AIDS and advocacy campaigns should be continued. The meeting was chaired by DC &amp; DHS chairperson N. Hushili Sema. <\/p>\n<p>The meeting began with the presentation of Dimapur District HIV &amp; AIDS scenario and HIV-TB co-ordination by deputy CMO Dr. Imchameren. <\/p>\n<p>Chief medical officer, Dr. P. Tia Jamir also gave a power-point presentation on the activities and quarterly performance of NRHM in the district. <\/p>\n<p>It was also agreed that people living with HIV&amp;AIDS would be given priority for grant of any social entitlement.
